Bending Branches Not Broken

We could playfully call it a 6 month sabbatical. We surely could label it in a literary phrase, "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times." Yes. We could. However, I think I will always remember it for the sustaining faith this experience has given.

When Marc worked for 10 days selling solar panels. He decided to memorize a scripture a day. This one was poignant and particularly applicable.

Helaman 5:12 "And now, my sons, remember, remember that it is upon the rock of our Redeemer, who is Christ, the Son of God, that ye must build your foundation; that when the devil shall send forth his mighty winds, yea, his shafts in the whirlwind, yea when all his hail and his mighty storm shall beat upon you, it shall have no power over you to drag you down to the gulf of misery and endless wo, because of the rock upon which ye are built, which is a sure foundation, a foundation whereon if men build they cannot fall.

Simply told, its been a 'doozy'. This 6 months of unemployment chapter of our married life has finally been "CLOSED". Marc met with the owner of a company today and finalizes everything on Tuesday next week. But it is DONE. O.V.E.R. Finished.

Shafts in the whirlwind. Yes. Hail. Yep, you bet. Gulf of misery??? Nada.

We made it. Barely. Our gratitude first goes to our Heavenly Father and his son Jesus Christ, from which we know all blessings flow. And also to those who helped 'lift the hands that hang down'.

You know who you are :)

You are those who:
Bought us gamma lids for our food storage buckets
Bought baby bracelets from me
Put $20.00 in my wallet (surreptitiously)
Traded work for services instead of cash
Gave us financial saving graces
Helped Marc prepare resumes, get ready for interviews, networked, etc..
Offered jobs to our kids
Cheered us on the whole way
Found ways to help us, help us.
Offered 'until you can get by' jobs to us
Treated our kids to a myriad of things we couldn't afford
Helped with repairs inexpensively
Took time to ask how we were
Prayed for us

and

Literally -LIFTED US through this experience.

Our heart goes out in grateful thanks

Here is the irony. Marc will be heading up the landscaping for Microsoft again. With the company that got the bid out from under him 2 years ago. He so loved that campus, and has not been the same professionally since it was taken. Now restored to him, he will have the same commute, the same everything.... Ironic? Maybe.... Blessed? Certainly. We have been blessed and are SO GRATEFUL and SO THANKFUL.

Yay!!!!! Now, I wonder whats next on the 'earth trials' docket? :)

QUITE A RIDE IS THIS EXPERIENCE WE CALL LIFE!......HOLD ON FOLKS YOU NEVER KNOW WHATS NEXT!!!!

  4. Marc and Debi,
We are so happy for you! Debi, you needed Marc to help you get through the end of the year, and he was there for you. I am so grateful to our Heavenly Father for all the wonderful miracles in our lives and yours. This is a miracle for us, this time we could not help you and we were miserable. We are so excited for you. I haven't forgotten Adam's guitar picks, Lily's dress and Baptism , and your birthday shampoo, it has been put into the system and you know how it is, it will come up sooner than later. How proud and happy I am for Marc, perfect, you sweet, sweet man. How much God the Father loves you and your and your family did not have to relocate, something I prayed so deligently for not to have to do, I understand how that would have been for Debi, I was very concerned. Sometimes when the ad on TV where you have the puppy "worrying" dreaming and hiding his bone from place to place and the song goes, "Worry, worry, worry", tears and laughter would come out of me at the same time. God Bless you. We love all of you so very much. Debi, Dr. Wells informed me that running burnes up sugar, a guick fix, so to speak for a high glucose reading, but the thing that burns fat and builds muscle is to just walk. Don't push yourself to much, please take care. I love you, Mom

  7. Yipee!!! I was up at a RS retreat yesterday and Nikki Bennett spoke at it (she is darling by the way) and I heard this good news from her. She told me she had read it on your blog just that day. I could not be happier for you and Marc. Our family was the same as Steff's, we didn't miss a day of praying.
    I love you all,
    Kristi
